Fire Departments across the nation are experiencing a shortage of volunteers and Garland VFD is feeling the affects as well,  Over the last few years department membership has dropped to an all time low.

We are in need of interested individuals who are willing and want to help out their fellow neighbors, friends and family. If you have ever considered joining a fire dept but maybe the thought of going in a burning house scares you, then how about being a Emergency Medical Technician that provides assistance to the sick and injured, or a driver that operates the fire truck at the scene of an emergency.

If none of the emergency response stuff appeals to you then have you considered helping out at fundraisers or manning the station and help getting the equipment back in service after an emergency.

There are all different aspects that make up an organization and volunteer fire departments are no different.

Stop down and talk to some of the current members and you may find that you could help out in some way or another. We are at the fire station every Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and most Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 AM. We would be more than glad to talk to you and see if it may be something you would be interested in getting involved with. Helping the community is a great sense of pride and joy.

If you would like to just send us an email inquiry about what we do that's ok as well.  You can follow the Link and fill out some information and we will answer any questions you might have.
